ALAN Melton, Leader of Fenland District Council, spoke on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on September 10 about the potential loss of the Estover Road playing field at March for housing development.
It was stated that the county council wanted to sell the playing field for housing and therefore the district council zoned this playing field, along with another 60 acres of farmland, for housing development.
Apart from all the major issues of out of scale, major traffic increase, the loss of one of the town’s open space heritage etc is there not another issue?
Mr Melton is not only Leader of the district council but he is also a Cambridgeshire County councillor. How can a person wearing two hats with two opposing views judge fairly on this major proposal?
