I READ with interest the letter from Pam Thompson in the Citizen regarding speeding motorists.
I am now a senior citizen and only ever got done for speeding once since passing my test back in 1975 and that was while I was in Germany in 1976.
I still have the ticket as at the time I tried to explain to the officer we had become decimal in 1971.
He wanted £2/5s/0d - even threatening to double it if I argued.
With respect, it is not cameras that are needed but more police patrols and in particular, along Churchill Road, Wisbech, where it changes from 40mph to 30mph which I comply with, while many others ignore.
