Reader letter: No cycling

A number of people have raised the issue of cycling in the Horsefair Shopping Centre at Wisbech with me. Although there are signs clearly saying “No Cycling” people do still ride through. For shoppers who are elderly or disabled, a bike zooming towards them can be quite frightening, particularly if they are not able to move aside quite as quickly as others. I hope readers will remember to dismount and encourage their friends and family to do the same in the Horsefair. They may not realise that those who are less mobile see and experience the world in a different way. What seems harmless to you may be quite another thing to somebody else. Please dismount, push your bike safely through, then remount on the other side.
