Rubbish had to be ‘seen to be believed’

THIS is the first time I have written a letter to any newspaper.

Last Wednesday at 8am I was walking my dogs around the rugby fields in Chapel Road, Wisbech.

The state of the rubbish, broken bottles etc left each morning has been getting worse. That morning had to be seen to be believed. It was disgusting with no excuse as there was a rubbish bin only yards away.

As I continued to walk I came across a young girl about nine or ten. She was collecting up rubbish and putting it in the bin, she was with an adult.

The child asked me my name and told me she was called Samantha, She had watched a video at school about pollution of the atmosphere and said she was collecting rubbish left by others.

She left me feeling so humble with a tear in my eye and so angry at those who can’t be bothered to clean up after themselves.
