CALL me old fashioned and pedantic, but I feel I must point out an error in the article (Citizen June 13) “Jon’s royal appointment” in which it was stated that Jon “got to meet” (met) the Queen, Kate Middleton and Camilla.
Kate ceased to be Kate Middleton when she married Prince William; she then became Kate Wales with the title Duchess of Cambridge, over a year ago! Camilla is Duchess of Cornwall and, as the wife of the first direct heir to the throne, is senior to the Duchess of Cambridge and should, I believe, be mentioned second to the Queen.
So what, you may say. I mention it because it further highlights the gradual erosion of our standards and values along with our language and grammar.
