CONGRATULATIONS to the Street Pride Group in March for a superb display of flowers throughout the town.
All volunteers from the local community, they give a real feeling of civic pride to the town for the benefit of residents and visitors alike. Co-ordinated by Jeanette Milner of Fenland District Council, I understand the plants were bought from Delfland Nurseries, with donations from local businesses and individuals, helped by the design skills of Chris Searle the manager at Delfland.
Thanks to Delfland, FACET, 3B Design, March Town Council, Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (grant for the three tier planters), March Lions, Charles David Photographers, Smurfit Kappa March, Oliver Cromwell Hotel,
Cutting Edge hairdressers, Tom Hyde and Son, Neale Wade Students, Ambience, a Citizen of March and the Quince Family.
Results of the Anglia in Bloom competition will be known in September and there are high hopes that March will be one of the front runners for the Gold Award
Once again it is the local indpendent businesses mainly, that are prepared to suport these community initiatives and in return they need our support as customers.
