I WRITE following my letter of April 6 regarding St George’s Day celebrations.
Now St George’s Day has been and gone, I note the usual lack of support or correspondence in reply to my written questions from politicians, Fenland District Council and Wisbech Town Council via the Citizen.
I also note trying to find a St Geroge flag to purchase in and around Wisbech proved extremely difficult. All I was offered were Union Jacks which are not appropriate to celebrate an English saint and English history.
I applaud those householders and car drivers who did fly the cross, but alas, they were few. I fear the English identity along with historical traditions will be lost.
