WISBECH Town have signed former Spalding and Holbeach striker Tom Gosling but Liam Nimmo has decided to stay with Holbeach United.
Gosling has built up a reputation as the "bad boy" of local football after a number of red cards in two spells with Spalding and Holbeach.
Spalding released him earlier this year and he has been playing for Pinchbeck in the Peterborough League.
But for a 22-year-old he has plenty of experience and Wisbech boss Roy McManus is quite happy to take a chance on Gosling after speaking to one of his former managers Dick Creasey.
McManus said: "He has had his problems with discipline on the pitch but he is a handful up front for defenders and is very good at holding the ball up. I am hoping he can give us the thrust and experience up front we have been lacking."
But McManus will have to wait to see his new striker in action as he is under suspension for tonight's home game at King's Lynn Reserves and Saturday's home game against Needham Market.
McManus moved for Gosling when his approach for Nimmo to return to Fenland Park was turned down by the Holbeach player.
But there may still be a Nimmo joining the Fenland Park ranks: former Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Nimmo will have talks with McManus after tonight's game at The Walks.
Nimmo, a 19-year-old from Ramsey, has a two-year contract with Tiptree and McManus is hoping to take him on loan.
McManus said "I am hopeful things can be sorted out and he will be in the squad for Saturday's game against Needham Market."
McManus is also trying to bring in a left sided player into his squad and is expected to make a move this week for someone from a senior club.
"After Saturday's defeat it is important we get something from our next two games and that will not be easy. King's Lynn are certain to be stronger for a midweek game and then we face Needham Market who have already beaten us this season."
Grant Rider returns to the Wisbech squad tonight after missing the last month with injury.
