The Peterborough League have a taken a lenient view over Sutton Bridge fielding a player under a false name last month in a Division Two game.
Sutton Bridge have been fined just £40 and have had three points deducted after Long Sutton player Erik Tolnay scored all three of their goals in the 3-2 win over Netherton, but was on the team sheet as Bruce Maistry.

Netherton suspicions were aroused when the Sutton Bridge players kept calling their teammate Erik during the game and they made their complaint to the league after identifying him as the Long Sutton striker.

It is perhaps the most serious offence a club can commit yet the league have effectively let them off with a slap on the wrist.

The match will be replayed again at Sutton Bridge's expense but Tolnay has escaped punishment.

At the same league meeting Peterborough Sports were fined a total of £100 for failing to fill in a team sheet correctly.

The league's Mike Crowson said: "This is the normal amount clubs are fined for this offence and Sutton Bridge will have to pay Netherton's expenses for the game to be replayed. Had Sutton Bridge lost the game the fine would have been £60 but the game would not have been replayed."
