CYCLING star Jody Cundy struck double gold at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester last week.
Cundy was part of a world record-breaking team but was unlucky to have an individual record taken away from him after an administrative error.

The former swimming star - watched by his Walpole St Andrew-based family - stormed to gold in the 1km time trial on Thursday and then was part of the team sprint threesome that set a world record on Friday.

But the event was tinged with disappointment for Jody when his world record in Thursday's event was taken away from him because no drug officials were there to take tests.

Jody had slashed over one second off his own world record, but the effort can now only be recognised as a 'world best time'.

The local ace won the LC category gold, finishing over two seconds ahead of his closest rival in 1-07.405.

On Friday Jody was third rider in the morning heat when the team set a new world record of 50.068 seconds and second rider in the afternoon final when they beat the earlier record with a time of 49.958.

Proud dad, Alan, said: "He was so cool and calm about it. He was watched by the whole family - it makes you feel so good.
"He was gutted about having the first recored taken away from him though."
