DICK Creasey began his second spell in charge of Wisbech Town by guiding his side into a semi-final place in the Cambs Invitaion Cup with a win over Lakenheath last tuiesday night.
The Cambs League side surprised by taking an early lead with a pe
nalty for a push in the box and duly scored from the spot kick
After 32 minutes Wisbech were level when Robbie Harris touched the ball on for Stuart Cobb to hit a low drive into the net from the edge of the box.
Wisbech really took control of the game after the break and a second goal came when Harris again set up Billy Smith who came in from the right to hit a well aimed shot past the outstretched Lakenheath keeper after 65 minutes.
The third goal had an element of luck about it when Scott Cubberley challenged their keeper for the ball and it went into net off the Wisbech striker's back.
Creasey said: "We were ring rusty after six weeks without a game but we did get better in the second half and really dominated.
"They got a soft penalty and our touch was not that good on a difficult surface in the first half.
"It was a first game back and I think had we played Kirkley on the Saturday we might have been struggling. Mark Jimson came in and as usual gave 100 per cent."
