A goal three minutes from time settled this Ridgeons League encounter and for the first time since manager Steve Appleby took over he was not happy with his team's performance.
He commented: "I had been happy with the way we had performed so far b
ut we just did not perform in this game. We huffed and puffed but were never going to blow the house down.
"We are still naive when we play away and it was perhaps as well that they were no better than us and Alex Street hardly had a save to make apart from the goal."
Darren Jimson and Scott Cubberley had chances to break the deadlock in the first half but Wisbech never produced the football they are capable of and as a result lacked that cutting edge.
They were a little unfortunate to escape a penalty when Anthony Reeve looked to have brought down a player in the box while Wisbech appeals for a penalty for handball would have been harsh if given.
Wisbech: Alex Street, Stuart Cobb, Charlie Defty,Anthony Reeve, Paul Cousins, Robbie Harris, Mark Jimson, Lewis Thompson, Scott Cubberley, Billy Smith, Darren Jimson. Subs used: Rory Harper, Tom Spittlehouse.
