Wisbech Town Reserves had goalkeeper Darren Hyde to thank for their 2-1 William Cockell Cup win over Somersham at Barton Road.
Aaron McKenna opened the scoring with a lob over their goalkeeper from 18 yards after nine minutes and Joe Gallagher, struck a superb 20-yard free-kick that flew over the wall and ended up in the top left-hand corner of the net after 63 minutes.

Somersham scored from the penalty spot eight minutes later after a foul by Simon Oakley to set up a nail-biting finish but the home side held out with Hyde making the necessary saves.

Chatteris Town suffered a second successive defeat when they were knocked out of the cup when losing 2-1 at RHS United.

Once again it was a game that the Lilies dominated for long periods producing some good football but at the moment they just cannot score the goals to round it off.

The home side took the lead midway through the first half from a 35-yard free kick which flashed into the net. Then 10 minutes into the second half RHS broke away to score a second.

Chatteris continued to play the better football and with 20 minutes to go Jay Hennessey came off the bench to make it 2-1 but in the end it was not enough.

Manager Steve Saunders commented: "It was disappointing but it was not a bad performance. we dominated most of the game but we just cannot put away the chances. It is worrying but at least we are making the openings."

There is no stopping the second and A team teams as they both scored convincing wins.

Chatteris Reserves ran out 5-0 winners against Outwell Swifts Reserves in the Division 3B Cup with Dean Joyce 2, Matt Hollis, Andrew Bright and the evergreen Julian Young scoring the goals.

Chatteris Town A sit at the top of Division 5C following a 5-1 win over Estover Park Reserves with the goals shared between Ben Matthews, Gary Smith, Nathan Fox, Ryan Buddle and Alex Ashley.

March Town Reserves also slipped out of the competition losing 4-3 at home to Sawston United but Outwell Swifts stay in contention with a 2-0 win over Swavesey Institute. Swifts had to be thankful for the late appearance of striker Jon Secker who was working and did not arrive until half time.

Manager Paul Brenchley put him on five minutes into the second and he hit both goals in the 70th and 81st minutes to wrap up the tie.

Brenchley said: "It was a very even game in the first and we found it difficult to break them down. But then Jon came to our rescue."

March Rangers picked up their second win of the season in Division 2B with a 6-0 home win over struggling Milton Reserves with Jimmy Boxall hitting five of the goals.

Wisbech St Mary Reserves lost 2-0 at Sutton United and have now gone six league games without a win but have drawn three.

Saints A team are in better form and had a 13-2 Cambs Cup win over Benwick Athletic.
