WISBECH ST MARY regained top spot in the Wisbech Sunday league with a 13-2 win over Denver Bell.
Despite a spirited showing for the first 30 minutes Denver were never in the contest. They lacked the desire and effort to trouble a WSM outfit who went 6-2 up at the break.
Saints took it easy in the second period but still ran in another seven.
Joe Woods was outstanding for the home side notching five goals, Simon Bates hit four, Ricky Bowden added one as did Marley Coe, Darren Rawthorn and Stuart Beckett.
James Goude did get a spectacular equaliser for Denver and Ross Stokes scored from the spot. Only Paul Morton from Denver should feel pleased with his performance.
Tilney had to work very hard for the 2-1 victory over Acre United and scored through Lee White .
Tilney showed their true character and won with goals from the impressive Mark Vice and Liam Peart.
Murrow had expected a tougher game against an improving North End team who just didn't get things going this week and lost 6-1. Stefan Markille notched a fine hat-trick for Murrow, Simon Oakley added another, Craig Moore and an own goal completed the home scorers. Ollie Hawes scored North End's only goal.
Wanderers were more than pleased with their performance against a good England's Hope side who possibly will not be pleased with their overall performance despite a 6-1 win.
Andy Yeomans notched his fourth goal of the season for the home side. Joe Wybourn 2, Michael Chow 2, John Collins and Lee Mitchell scored for Hope. The game was well refereed by John Brand
Castle FC lost out 5-0 to a strong Thetford side Railway Tavern in the Norfolk Intermediate Cup.
Crown entered the Cambs Challenge Cup for the first time and had a very tough away tie at Hardwick, losing out 6-0.
