THE FENMEN take on the Ridgeons Premier Division leaders Lowestoft on Saturday and manager Steve Taylor is still hoping he has the Midas touch over the east coast outfit.
Last season, while in charge at Haverhill, Taylor inflicted two league defeats on the FA Vase finalists and he is hoping for some of the same this weekend.

Taylor commented: "Lowestoft have started the season really well and it looks a big challenge for us.

"But if we can work hard and continue in the same mood from Woodbridge we may just upset them."

For once Taylor could be left with a team selection headache after last week's win at Woodbridge when Richard Harnwell, Stuart King and James McManus missed the game.

They all expected to be fit to travel this weekend but Taylor commented: "The players did very well at Woodbridge and it will be hard to take the shirts away from them.

"It was a really good reaction from them and it was a good all round performance that produced the win." One name sure to be first on the team sheet, however, will be young hat-trick hero Scott Cubberley, the team's leading goalscorer.

"He is in very good form at present and is looking better with every game," added Taylor.

Taylor had in fact had hoped to have Mildenhall striker Chriss Bacon in the side at Woodbridge but the deal fell through at the last moment,

Taylor added: "Up until Friday I thought we had Bacon coming but Dereham stepped in with a good offer and he has gone there on a month's loan so we will have to see what happens.

"We only have two strikers in Cubbs and Nick Impey so we do need to sign one soon.

"The difficulty at the moment is not everyone is attracted to play at Outwell so it is making it a little harder to bring players in."

Goalkeeping coach Bob Warby has left the club alleging he is owed money but Taylor refutes the allegations.

Wisbech were due to play CRC in the Cambs Invitation Cup last night in the first game under the new floodlights at Outwell.
