WISBECH TOWN have been drawn away to newly-promoted Newmarket Town in the Ridgeons League Cup first round, with the ties to be played in October.
Manager Gary Setchell said: “It would have been better to have had a home draw. Newmarket have come up again this season and will be looking to do well. But I am hopeful that with the squad we shall have that we should be able to cope with a team like Newmarket.”

Wisbech start their pre-season training next Tuesday night and Setchell hopes to have three new players signed in the first week back.

“All the players from last season have said they are staying and I want to make three or four new signings to bring the squad up to decent strength,” he said.

Wisbech under 18s will face a trip to local rivals Wisbech St Mary in the first round of the Ridgeons Youth Cup if they can beat last season’s North Division runners-up Downham Town in the preliminary round.
