Wisbech faced bottom-of-the-league Market Deeping at the weekend and were not convincing, still trying to find their feet after the winter break.
In the first 10 minutes it was easy to see the difference between the two sides but then the first
half could not end soon enough with a string of errors one after another and both teams level at the break.
The second half started just as frustrating and the loss of Lee Peck did not help matters when he was shown the yellow card, just another decision that stopped any form of momentum for Wisbech to play some good hockey.
Once back to strength Wisbech showed a glimmer of their old selves with a more positive attitude and belief which was further lifted when Adam Thomas roofed the net with one of his trade-mark strikes and further added to his tally late on as Wisbech ran out winners, now their fourth on the trot that places them one point behind league leaders Spalding.
Wisbech 3rds 4, Bourne 1
Wisbech came into this game on the hunt for points after last week's unsatisfactory defeat to top-of-the-table Horncastle and didn't have to look too hard.
The Reds had the lion's share of the possession and soon converted it into their first goal when James Williams edged Norman's cross into the net passing a stationary keeper in the process.
Bourne kept themselves in the game with a quick equaliser, but with further goals coming from Williams, Bass and newcomer to the side, Lee, the game was quickly put beyond Bourne's reach.
