LEAH PARSONS continued her successful comeback with a third place in the high jump at the Cork City Games in Ireland.
The 19-year-old from Wisbech St Mary was below her best with a jump of 1.65 metres in the under 20 event, but was still pleased with her performance.

She missed almost the whole of last season due to personal reasons but has come back in very good form.

Parsons, who now lives in Peterborough, has been concentrating on the high jump this summer and took the under 20 title at the South of England Championships and was third in the AAA event.

She said: “I could not be more pleased the way things have gone since I returned to the sport.

“I am just doing the high jump this season but, once I have saved enough money or have got some sponsorship, I would like to train full-time and go back to doing the heptathlon.”
