ANYONE looking for a night match would do well to give the Emneth Angling Club matches a try on the Button Hole Fishery, looking at the results of their latest match.
Top rod with an excellent 70lb 8oz net of carp was Andrew Carter. He drew peg 20 and took his fish on the deck, fishing pellet on the hook.
Andy Lawrence came second with 63lb 9oz, followed by Damien Evans with 63lb 6oz.
There is no need to boo
k into these Tuesday evening events, just turn up and fish. The draw is at 5pm.

Premier Foods
WHAT a weekend for 14-year-old Jonathon Fysh – not only did he take the individual honours in the Premier Foods club match at Kingsland on the Big Carp Lake, but he also took the pairs event with Mick Raby.
While most of the field found it tough going fishing up in the water Jonathon’s approach, fishing pole and paste, paid off handsomely.
Netting carp to double figures he finished with 44lb 10oz to head off the challenge of Trevor Haycock, who weighed in 40lb 8oz taken on a variety of methods. In third place was Ryan Collins with 34lb 4oz.
Whitemoor Prison AC
THE experts always say you should fish into a wind to get the best results, but for most of the competitors in Wednesday’s Whitemoor Prison AC match it was a real struggle on the usually prolific North View Lakes at Gedney Hill.
It was plain sailing, though, for winner Ian Darrington. He fished into the wind and made full use of the conditions, bagging 79lb 4oz on a pellet and paste approach.
Tony Moll took second place with 39lb 4oz, followed by Steve Smalley on 27lb 8oz.
Mill View OAP match
DO not let the title of this match fool you – the OAP Mill View midweek match at Rookery Farm, Pidley, saw some cracking weights and a display of quality carp fishing.
It was tight at the top, Mac Campbell just having the edge over close friend John Smith.
Mac fished peg 11 on the Magpie pool, taking carp to 4lb on cat meat fished close in, weighing a level 88lb.
Runner-up with 81lb 14oz was John Smith. He lost a little ground early on in the match by fishing too far out, but came back strongly in the latter stages to catch well on meat.
Third place went to Ron Clarke with 34lb 7oz, followed by Dave Farrugia on 34lb 6oz.
Spratts AC
WITHOUT doubt Lou’s Lake at Decoy is nowhere near as popular as any other on the complex, yet it really does fish well, as the Spratts AC lads found out in their midweek event.
Top rod with an impressive 100lb net of carp was Colin Varney. He really is a hard man to beat these days on just about any of our local carp waters. Drawn on peg 8 Colin fished pellet up in the water together with meat in the margins.
Runner-up Bryan Lakey pushed hard for the top spot.
