Paul Mathews lost for the first time this season in the Tuesday night section of the Wisbech Singles League when he came up against champion for the last two seasons Matt Goodale.
Matthews went 2-1 up, Goodale hit back to lead 5-3, but Matthews showed his character to tie at 5-5. Goodale has not been champion for the last two seasons without good reason, and took the last two frames for a 7-5 win.

hane Balding (no game) second, Goodale third and Aly Roberts fourth after beating Mo Crowson 7-4.
Alan Mason stays top of the Monday League after a fine 7-4 win over Harland Thorpe.
Scott Chambers and Andy Lucas stay second and fourth despite neither playing due to successful international commitments with England in the European championships, along with Darren McCarthy and Eric Mohammed.
Gareth Neale is third but went down 7-5 to Barry Keown, who also produced a 7-0 whitewash against Ashley Godfrey.
John Dawson beat Darren McCarthy 7-5, Andy Cooper won 7-6 over Wayne Green and in the Tuesday League, bottom seeded Nathan Forbes beat top seeded Dave Woods 7-5.
