JAMES PATRICK sent his old club Leverington packing with a second half hat-trick in the 6-1 win for Parson Drove in the Peterborugh Premier Division on Satutrday.
Patrick was scoring his first goals for the club since making the short trip to Drove in the summer and his three goals in four minutes were a bitter pill for Leverington boss Wayne Garner.

Drove took the lead in the first half through Paul Shafer but it was the visitors who finished the stronger with Rob Feary equalising and Adam Wright making two good saves just before the interval to deny them the lead.

But ten minutes into the second half it was all over as Drove scored four goals in nine minutes with Patrick's treble and another from Shafer. Gary Hancock made it 6-1 as Leverington slumped to their heaviest defeat against their neighbours.

Leverington boss Garner admitted: "It was a total embarassment and one of worst performances since I have been in charge. We played well for a 10-minute spell just before half-time but apart from that we were awful.

"I certainly did not see it coming as we had played well against Deeping Sports in midweek when we lost 2-1 to a penalty late on after having Simon Jones sent off."

Drove stand-in manager Gary Shailes said: “We deserved the win but may have been flattered by the score.

“We were certainly pleased to hear the whistle at half-time so we could get ourselves organised again. Then four quick goals finished the game.

“We had been poor against Whittlesey in midweek and got what we deserved but Saturday was a lot better.”

Wimblington have just one point to show from four games and are leaking goals at a fast rate too with 16 conceded in the last three games.

They went down 3-1 at home to Pinchbeck on Saturday with Kevin Holt on target, having lost 7-0 at Ramsey last Thursday.

Manager Chris Bartlett commented: “We have had a difficult couple of weeks and forced to make too many changes.

“We have had some tough games and face another one this weekend against Fletton but I believe we have enough at the club to come back.”
