CHATTERIS snooker ace Joe Perry lost ground on Ali Carter during a difficult session in World Championships at The Crucible this afternoon (Friday).
Perry, who has already pocketed £52,000 by reaching the semi finals for the first time, lost the first frame of the session, which started at 2.30pm.

In a see-saw frame 10, Perry missed a difficult black having taken a lead of 57, before Carter, also in his first Sheffield semi final, compiled a break of 51 before missing the pink when in sight of winning the frame.

Carter missed the pink again before taking it third time lucky to win his second frame in a row with an easy black to make it 5-5.

He followed that up by taking the lead in the match for the first time in the 11th, despite fouling on the white, which Perry failed to capitalise on.

A scrappy session ended with a moment of brilliance, but sadly for Perry it was Carter making a break of 101 to claim his fourth frame in a row and a 7-5 lead going into the mid session interval.

The match continues into the evening, before resuming tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am and again at 7.30pm if the match still undecided.
