Being a father seems to suit Wisbech midfielder James McManus down to the ground as he fired a double salvo to bring a victory on the coast.
This was his third goal in three games since the birth of his first daughter and there was real quality about both Saturday’s goals.
Things however did not start well for the Fenmen when they went a goal down in five minutes after their long trip.
But the equaliser from McManus was something to savour.
Stuart Ablett started him off with a pass to the midfielder and then Darren Edey dummied the ball allowing McManus to continue his run and beat the offside trap before firing past the goalkeeper with a fierce low shot from 18 yards into the net.
Play moved quickly from end to end for the rest of the half. Edey and Smith both had good chances but it was the home side who should have regained the lead from the penalty spot after a forward was stopped in his tracks in the box.
But Chris Horton, not for the first time this season, performed wonders.
