Wisbech Table Tennis Association held its Annual Presentation Evening at Walton Highway Club on Saturday with the winners from the league programme and championships receiving their trophies.
John Blyth of Institute collected two of the four nominated awards. He became the first winner of the Pauline Sleight Trophy which is awarded to the player of the year.

For the second season Blyth topped the games won chart in the league progra

Blyth also collected the AnnVic Trophy for his performance at the Championships where he featured in five finals, winning four of them.

Team of the Year went to the Wisbech Juniors who swept all before them at the Cambs Summer League.

Grant Brightey, Paul Reed and Mark Spinks all received Merit Awards. Brightey for several excellent wins in his first season as he stepped up from the junior ranks. Reed for his continued improvement as he increased his winning percentage by 10% on the previous season and Spinks for his achievements in his disability group at both national and international levels.

George Norman proved to be a popular winner of the Rokewood Award which is given for sportsmanship and the retiring General Secretary, Clive Harrod, received the Aistrup Award for his services to the league.

The Association now looks forward it's sixtieth season with the Annual General Meeting being set to be held at the Walton Highway Club on Wednesday, June 11.
