WISBECH TOWN boss Gary Setchell is hopeful that two former Fenmen, Martin McNeill and Simon Flanz, will join the club again.
Both defenders are expected at the first training sessions this week and King’s Lynn player Charlie Defty was also expected to be among those taking part in the Barton Road sessions.

McNeill had two seasons with the club under Dick Creasey but then left to join Soham Town.

Wisbech tried to re-sign him last season when he was available again but he joined Lowestoft, but could never command a regular place in the champions’ line-up.

Flanz also turned down Wisbech’s advances last season when Steve Taylor was in charge and preferred to see the season out with Soham.

But he has now indicated that he will not be staying with Ian Benjamin’s team and is looking for a new club.

Setchell said: “They are all defenders but we conceded 82 goals last season and that is too many if we are to make an impact on the league this season.

“They are coming to have a look at us and if I can sign two of these players to boost my squad I will be very happy.”

Setchell is also looking at other new players this week with a midfield player and a forward expected to join in the training.
