JIMMY UNWIN has turned down the chance to become March Town assistant manager because of work commitments.
Unwin, a former Chatteris Town manager, said: “Because of my job coaching with Cambridge United it would have been very difficult to attend midweek matches and training.
“In the circumstances I have reluctantly had to turn the job down.
“It would be no good just turning up on Saturday and I am sure it would have been no help to Jamie in those circumstances.
“It was nice to be asked and I would have loved to have taken the job if it was possible to give it my full attention.
“I would like to get involved again in local football again on Saturdays so I will have to see what comes up.”
Weston, however, did have good turnouts for his first training sessions last week at Neale Wade and was hoping to complete some signings this week as well as appointing his reserve team manager.
