A CLEAN sheet is the top priority for Steve Taylor as Wisbech take on Ridgeons League strugglers Swaffham Town on Saturday in the FA Vase.
Swaffham have made a disastrous start to the season in Division One following their relegation with five straight defeats and 19 goals conceded under new manager Mick Simmons, who was once in charge at March.
They have lost a lot of players since the end of last season including Gary Setchell and Anthony Reeve to Wisbech but there were signs that things were picking up with only a 1-0 defeat against Brantham on Saturday.
Taylor promised: "We cannot underestimate them.
"They will come here seeking an upset and make things difficult for us by getting plenty of players behind the ball.
"The most important thing for us is to keep a clean sheet and hope we can hurt them at the other end."
"We played some of best football at home this season in the first half against Mildenhall, but the goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of us. Let's hope we can give the fans something to cheer about in the final game at Fenland Park."
One new face for the fans to look forward to is French man Sofian Benour who has finally got clearance from the French FA to play in this country.
Benour is a defender or midfielder and Taylor will include him in Saturday's squad.
He added: "I would like to bring in a couple of new players but it is proving difficult at the moment with the move to Outwell putting some players off.
"I had hoped to sign former Palace player Ryan Hall but he is having second thoughts about the travelling, while the former Wisbech striker is looking to do soccer coaching on Saturdays.
"I will keep trying to strengthen the squad but I do not think we will bring in anyone else this week."
Stuart Ablett is still troubled by his hamstring injury and it could be at least two weeks before he appears again.
