Townsend Lakes Fishery has been in top form for a few weeks now and fishery boss Colin Begbie is certainly making the most of it, topping the Saturday Open match on the Kingfisher Pool once again.

This time he bagged a fine 92lb 3oz net of carp and skimmers taken on the pole with sweetcorn from peg 30.

Runner-up with 65lb 3oz was Harry Morgan followed by Carl Grifford on 44lb 6oz.

If you are after lots of bites then head for the Cuckoo Canal Pool at Townsend,

Alan Owen bagged 221lb 4oz from peg 37 to take a comfortable victory fishing pole with pellet.

Brian Arliss came second with 164lb 8oz followed by Robert Betts with 151lb 15oz.

Luncheon meat fished close in from peg 21 saw Les Barry top the field in the Tuesday evening match at Buttonhole Fishery,

Les put 121lb 8oz to the scales.

Runner-up with 119lb 11oz was Andrew Carter, followed by Danny Button with 78lb 7oz.

The Friday evening barbecue matches are great fun here.

There is no stopping Andrew Carter and Les Barry right now at Buttonhole, they do seem to have the place sorted.

Top spot went to Carter: he fished paste on peg 18 for 137lb, then came Barry who fished meat close in on peg 21 for 110lb 2oz with Andy May third putting 97 lb 8oz to the scales.
