The popular Tydd Gote AC evening matches have started to produce some good catches.

In the latest event Emneth rod Mick Asker topped the field with a very respectable 8lb 14oz net of skimmers and roach along with a bonus bream, all taken on the pole with red maggot and pinkie. Runner-up was Dave Parlett on 4lb 3 ½ oz followed by Andy Greenwood with 3lb 9oz.

Sunday’s club match held at Harold’s on the North Level Drain saw Andy Greenwood taking the honours. He caught skimmers and perch on a chopped worm line to finish with 7lb 6oz. Runner-up on 5lb 3oz was Colin Burton, then came Ray Groom third with 3lb 2oz.

Fixtures: Thursday evening match draw at 5.30, at Black Dyke. Tuesday draw at 5pm, fish 5.30 8.30, Sunday match draw at 11am, fish 12-5 at Main Road.

Fenland Rods found the fish feeding well on their recent visit to Headfen Fishery, leading the way was James Garner with a fantastic weight of 205lb, all caught on luncheon meat either at 4m or close in.

James started well catching at the start and never stopped throughout the day. Similar tactics saw Matt Lutkin in the runner-up spot with 166lb followed by Tim Bates on 142lb 8oz and Kev Lee with 128lb

Spratt’s AC fished on Kingsland Large Carp Lake at Turves in their most recent fixture which saw Peter Spriggs take a convincing victory putting a massive 208lb 14oz to the scales, a net of big carp taken on paste at 10 metres.

Mac Campbell took the runner-up spot with 141lb 11oz. He fished the margins with meat, then came Mick Raby, third on 81lb 10oz.

In the latest Rose and Crown, Manea, match fished on the Rook Pool at Pidley, the consistent Kevin Bridgement took the top spot with 69lb 1oz taken from peg 12. Kevin caught well on the feeder with pellet. Runner-up with a dozen carp taken on a Method feeder was Paul Hollingsworth for 37lb 8oz, followed by Mick Woodham on 34lb 12oz.

It’s been a busy week for the Chatteris WMC angling section, in the Wednesday evening match at “The Pump” section on the Forty Foot drain it was March rod Bob Fitzjohn taking the honours with 7lb 13oz. His catch included five big eels.

Runner-up was John Roper with 6lb 8oz and Steve Newell on 3lb 10oz.

The weekend match saw the club back on the Forty Foot, this time fishing the Bulls Mill area. Top rod with 6lb 1oz was Mark Dunham, his catch included a fine tench of 4lb 12oz. John Roper came in second with 3lb 6oz, with Steve Newell third with 14oz.

Buttonhole Fishery continues to fish well, in the recent Tuesday evening event Andy Lawrence topped a strong field with 106lb 10oz of carp taken from peg 1 in the margins.

Runner-up with 96lb 12oz was Andrew Carter followed by Jamie Crown with 86lb 14oz.

At the weekend it was the turn of Leverington AC to try their luck at the fishery, this match saw Martin Burggraff top the list with 79lb 4oz. He drew peg 19 and caught well on pellet for most of the day. Lewis Smith took second place, he caught on meat from peg 7, weighing in 76lb 8oz followed by Terry Chilvers on 60lb 12oz.
