One of the country’s top team matches, the Sensas Challenge Final, will this year be held on a new venue.
The competition has been on commercial waters but at last it’s heading our way and onto a natural venue in the shape of the River Great Ouse around Littleport, Cambridgeshire.
The event will take place over the weekend of March 8 and 9 and I have been told there are still a few places available for the five-man team event.
The prize for the winners is a place in the huge grand final in France later in the year.
A delighted event organiser Mark Downes said: “The River Ouse saw fantastic sport for the World Club qualifier in September and the fish remain here all through the winter,”
He added: “Practice sessions have been promising and I know from talking to a few teams, the change has been well received.
“We’re always happy to have more teams fishing though, so if you fancy a crack at something very different to the norm, give me a call.”
The locally based Sensas Mark One side will have at least one side in the match and possibly two, and with their track record on the venue its quite possible one of them could well make it through to the final.
