CHATTERIS Town enjoyed a double over Wisbech on Saturday with both their first and second teams winning their local derby games.

Ant Palmer’s first team, who celebrated a second successive promotion a week earlier, beat Wisbech seconds by five wickets in CCA Senior Division 2.

Wisbech batted first and scored 177 all out with Jamie Gollands hitting a very good 95 and Shane Sleath 22, Matt Esser 17 and Lyndon Waters 15.

Palmer three for 22 and Ant Bamford three for 13 were the best of the Chatteris bowlers.

Connor Cunningham made a timely return to action with a very good 104 not out as Chatteris chased down the runs in 39 overs with the loss of five wickets. Matthew Parrin took four for 37.

Chatteris seconds beat Wisbech thirds by six wickets in their CCA Junior Division 2A fixture.

Wisbech scored 180 for seven after a very good start from openers Adrian Clare 37 and Tom Chapman 47 and Adrian Peck also contributed 27. Kevin Felton took three for 35 and Mark Leach and Paul Foster picked up two wickets each.

Leach also top scored with 74 in the Chatteris reply with Liam Boxal 29, Joe Menarry 26 no and Ben Perry 21 no helping them to an easy win after 25 overs.
