Chatteris first team made it three successive wins on Saturday with a six-wicket success at home against Balsham in CCA Senior Division 2 to lead the table.
Balsham elected to bat first and the home bowlers soon ripped through the batting as they were dismissed for just 94 inside 36 overs. Wickets were shared among the Chatteris attack with Ant Palmer 3-9, Joe Menarry 2-24, 15-year-old Kriss Brown 1-10 and the evergreen Andy Wool returning stunning figures of 4-25 from nine overs.
Chatteris had to change their opening patnership as star batsman Kurt Cunningham pulled his hamstring while fielding, so 15-year-old James Fraser was promoted to open after consecutive half centuries on Sundays, and he did not look out of place as he made 13, which included two stunning cover drives which reached the boundary rope. It was fellow opener Palmer who guided his side home with a really solid 58. Chatteris had 18 overs left as they hit the winning runs.
In CCA Junior 2A, Chatteris second team also top the league after they made it two wins from two with a six-wicket win at Haddenham.
Haddenham got off to a solid start but again the Chatteris bowlers were just too much for them to handle and they were out for 133 with spinner Kev Felton taking four for 39 and Mark Leach three for 15.
Cam Brown moved up the order to opener and reached 49 with only one more run needed for the win. He was well supported by Paul Foster 31 no as Chatteris eased home with 10 overs to spare.
