It was a good weekend for both Chatteris cricket teams.
The first team travelled to Horseheath with just nine men but recorded a well fought 53-run victory. Chatteris were asked to bat first on what looked like could be a tricky wicket.
Skipper Ant Palmer promoted himself to opener, making a maiden Saturday century (103no), with fellow opener Kurt Cunningham 111 not out. Chatteris ended the reduced 36 overs on 236.
The hosts lost skipper Daniel Goldsmith to the very first ball of the innings, being caught by Palmer from the bowling of Mark Leach, and were bowled out for 183, Cunningham 4-8 from four overs.
The second team had a good seven-wicket win at home to Cottenham, who made 172 for 9, with Matty Hollis finishing with 3-31, Chatteris lost opener Karl Anderson (4) earlier on, but Malc Perry (35) and Matty Hollis (71) steadied the ship, and Chatteris made it home with three balls to spare.
