Ipswich Wanderers 0, March Town 4
STRIKER Stu Anderson continued his rich vein of form with another two goals as March Town extended their unbeaten start to the season.
Anderson scored seven times in pre-season games and has since scored five goals in three Ridgeons League Division One games as the Hares take second spot in the table.
Manager Brett Whaley was worried his side might slip up in this game and did have good reason for his caution in the first half when March did not play that well but still led 1-0 at the break.
The goal came from a corner with assistant manager Chris Lenton’s first goal for the club being a header.
March were a much better side after the break as they ripped open the home defence. Ricky Goodale made it 2-0 on the hour from 18 yards out to give them command and then Anderson struck twice.
His first goal came following some slick passing and he was left one on one with the keeper and the second came from a header when he got across the defender to win the ball.
Whaley said: “We did not play so well in the first half but we upped our game in the second half and were much the better team.
“Considering we still had a few players missing it was very good performance to come away and score four goals and not concede.
“Stu Anderson is on fire at the moment and that showed with both his goals. The second one was very similar to the one he scored against Wisbech in pre-season.”
