Andy winner for Upwell

Benwick Res pushed Upwell Town to their limits in Cambs League 5D but lost 5-4.

Benwick goals came from Andy Woodard after good work by Joe Davis, Jay Woodward set up by Dayne Moore, and Moore a brace.

Benwick led 4-3 with 10 minutes to go but Upwell equalised and then scored a winner in the 91st minute from returning striker Andy McClagish.

Benwick manager Stu Cole said: “The team was magnificent today and deserved at least a draw.

“It shows how much the team have developed this season.”

Other Upwell scorers: Scott Beetlestone, Jonny Allen (2).

Upwell manager Karl Schultz said: “It’s a harsh result on Benwick.”

Coldham beat Gorefield Res 4-0 in very windy conditions with goals from Kencey Carter (a lob), Kevin Smith and in the second half Ben Gallon and Lewis Greening.

The match was well reffed by local ref Andrew Clenshaw.
