WISBECH Town take on Stowmarket away in the Ridgeons League Cup semi-finals next Tuesday night and manager Steve Appleby believes it is a massive game for the club.
Appleby took Wisbech to the Cambs Invitation Cup final in his first season last year and is very keen for this team to appear in another final this year.
“This is our only chance of any silverware now this season and it is really the biggest game of the season for us. Every player wants to appear in a final and our players are no different.
“If we can do it again it will have been a cracking season especially if we can win the final this time around and finish in the top six.”
Appleby is hopeful that defender Simon Flanz will have recovered from injury and that he can have a full squad to choose from.
Stowmarket have already beaten Premier Division sides Histon Reserves and Hadleigh in the competition and were 5-0 winners against Team Bury in the quarter-finals.
Appleby said: “Stowmarket are obviously a decent side to get this far in the competition but my main concern is what Wisbech team will turn up on the night. This is one game we cannot afford to show any inconsistency in.”
Wroxham and CRC clash in the other semi-final on Tuesday.
On Saturday the Fenmen are at home to Kirkley who are just two points behind them in the table.
