Appleby gets a response in stalemate

Norwich United 0,

Wisbech Town 0

Fenmen boss Steve Appleby got a good response from his players with a Ridgeons Premier Division point last Tuesday night following the debacle the previous Saturday against Hadleigh.

For a goalless draw it was a good game of football with chances at both ends and the two teams hitting the woodwork twice.

Appleby commented: “The players responded well and worked hard and they had to because Norwich were a good side. They have spent a bit of money and are enjoying a good season.

“I thought we had the better chances but in the end a draw was a fair result.”

Wisbech: Lea Jordan, Simon Flanz, Scott Johnson, Paul Cousins, Jon Fairweather, Callum Reed, Paul Jones, Lewis Thompson, Andy Furnell, Adam Weston, Matt Lunn. Subs used: Darren Jimson (for Furnell 70), Ash Stevens (for Reed 80),Olly Gale (for Lunn 80).
