Promising winger Fraser Bayliss has turned down UCL champions Spalding United and is keen to join Wisbech Town.
The 18-year-old, who impressed on the left-hand side for Holbeach United last season, was wanted by Spalding boss Pat Rayment but would prefer to have another season in the UCL.
Wisbech assistant manager Mark Melson filled a similar position with Holbeach last season and Bayliss is keen to link up with him again.
Fenmen boss Dick Creasey said: “Fraser can play wide left, wide right and up top so we will try him out in a few positions in pre-season.”
Meanwhile, the Fenmen have been drawn away to Sleaford in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday, August 16.
The victors will host either Kirkley and Pakefield or Ely City two weeks later.
