Benwick Reserves completed the shock of the day with their first league win of the season over high-flying Needingworth.

Needingworth went into a 2-0 half-time lead but Neal Longfoot scored from close range. A Joe Davis peach of a free-kick from 25 yards was the equaliser and Greg Hoffman teed up sub Scott Smythe with a close-range header.

Manager Mark Bishop said: “I’m pleased that we are now off the bottom of the league.”

Marchester Utd are now level with second place Burwell after a thrilling game.

A breakaway goal from Ant Horn after 15 minutes, then John Feltell scored from close range to take a 2-0 half-time lead.

Burwell pulled a goal back soon after the restart and 25 minutes later levelled the game. But with 10 minutes remaining Ash Impey was brought down from behind. Up stepped skipper Ed Robinson who curled the ball round the wall to give Marchester the lead again.

Manager Brian Symonds was delighted with the result: “Burwell are a very good side but we matched them and deserved our victory.”

In a pulsating tie the Hares were unfortunate to come out losers.

The Hares went into a 2-0 lead when PoM Sydney Davis teed up Shannon Kelly and then Kelly turned provider, setting up Adele Munday at the near post. Milton got a dubious penalty before half- time. Emma Searle restored a two-goal advantage with a deft free-kick. Milton scored three in eight minutes and got a late fifth.
