Boss Crosbie blasts officials

March Town 1,
Brightlingsea 6

Hares boss Paul Crosbie was not happy with the officials after he had two men sent off in the first half during their loss to Thurlow Nunn League Division One title chasers Brightlingsea.

He said: “Max Mattless was sent off in the first five minutes for a stamp but no-one else has seen it.

“Jake Ogden got two yellow cards but we’re still not sure what one was for.

“The referee said to Bob Warby (March assistant boss) that their third goal was probably a foul but it is a goal now. How can you justify that? Their centre-half was all over Lewis Thompson, who had to receive treatment off the field. The official told him he’d have to wait a minute to come back on.

“The officials were giving offside from a throw-in. It’s frustrating and I am bitterly disappointed.

“All credit to my lads they never gave up over the 90 minutes.”

Toby Ogbonna replied at 2-1 for the Hares, who should have Adam Sutton available for Team Bury. Scott Welcher, who is in the armed forces, will be missing, as is the injured Luke Pepper.

Crosbie said: “We will go to the game with confidence. We should have won the game against them last season.”
