Haverhill grabbed the points on their first-ever visit to March in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One on Saturday.

March manager Paul Crosbie said: “We were the better side in the first half and we went behind to a sloppy goal but I wasn’t overly concerned as we were the only team playing football.

“We went out in the second half and didn’t do anything.”

The visitors sealed the points with an injury-time goal.

Aaron McKenna, who was unavailable last Saturday, will return at Debenham LC. Lewis Cook, who returned to the bench after injury, will not be available over the Christmas period.

Crosbie added: “We know and the players know we have enough to get a result at Debenham. We’ll freshen things up and make some changes as we need to win games.”

The festive local derby on Saturday, December 28, versus Downham Town has now been switched to at home, kick-off 3pm.

March: M Flintoff, Ogden, Mattless, Peacock, Blanchflower, Gibbons, Jackson, Chow, Dunlop (Lemmon), S White, Richardson (J Flintoff).
