BRADLEY Easey, a 14-year-old, was named as runner-up for the top junior footballer at the Peterborough Evening Telegraph Sports Awards last Friday night.
Easey plays for the successful Leverington under 15 team who completed the league and cup double in the Peterborough League last season.
Leverington manager Simon Barker said: “Bradley fully deserved it. He is a very good player who is quiet off the pitch but not on it. He is very dedicated and a strong all round player.
“He has already had trials with Norwich City and Boston United and clubs like Peterborough and Leicester have shown interest in him and some of the other players.
“Bradley is just part of a very good team that has gelled well together.”
Wisbech swimmer Liam Knight was also voted the Junior Sportsman of the Year.
The 17 -year old who swims for the Peterborough Swimming Club and is among the best British junior swimmers will be competing in the Olympic trials next month.
Wisbech Town’s Callum Reed (Footballer of the Year) and Spencer Larham (Unsung Hero) were also nominated but failed to poll enough votes to make the final nominations.
