March Saracens showed great team spirit to take the points in this entertaining 5-4 win against William Burt in the King’s Lynn and District Sunday League.
Saracens started slowly and were 2-0 down at half-time.
In the second half Saracens stepped up a gear and captain Dan Smethurst pulled a goal back with a slick finish.
Further strikes from Paul Rowell, Luke Jordan and Germaine Watson put Saracens in control but William Burt refused to lie down and brought the scores level after good work from Smethhurst. Man of the match was Andrew Abbott who put in a superb display.
Crown 5, Tilney A 0
Crown came storming out the blocks and took the lead after just 47 seconds when Ricky Gunns was chopped down in the area and scored from the penalty spot.
Midway through the first half Jonny Secker made it 2-0. Tilney had a good chance to score when their striker beat the offside trap but keeper Lenny Peeling made an outstanding save to keep the score 2-0 at the break.
In the second half Crown continued to dominate and Jack Mockford scored two classy goals to kill the game off before Arran Duke added a fantastic solo goal to make it 5-0 as Crown climb up to second in the league.
