Crown into semi-finals

CROWN are through to the semi finals of Lynn Sunday League Cup with a 4-3 win over White Bell.

Joe Woods scored two superb goals early on but White Bell hit back and made it 2-2 at the break with Adam Bell scoring twice for the visitors.

In the second half Crown again dominated but just couldn’t seem to get the ball in the net until Ben Bothamley headed in from close range and soon after Darren Rawthorn made it 4-2. White Bell had a player sent off but still hit back in the last minute to make it 4-3.

Crown manager Mark Secker rated it an excellent team effort and was also impressed with man-of-the-match Joe Woods.

Northend saw off Lynn Napier 2-0 in a league clash where both defences were strong.

It was heading for stalemate until the last ten minutes when substitute Steve Harris hit a 25-yarder into the top corner and then man-of-the-match Aaron Wright set up Alan Setchell for the second.

Also on form for Northend were Jason Elliott, Warren Laver and Conrad Matthews.
