Denny joins

WISBECH Town manager Steve Appleby moved quickly to sign former March Town forward Denny Escorcio after Callum Reed quit the club earlier last week.

Escorcio was signed from Soham Town in time to make his debut in time for Saturday’s 1-0 win against Wivenhoe.

Appleby said: “Denny played well against us in the pre-season friendly and again in the Cambs Invitation Cup game earlier this month. He has got plenty of pace and will freshen things up for us.”

Reed quit so he can stay close to his mother who has been suffering an ongoing illness. But he made his debut for Deeping Rangers in the UCL at Cogenhoe on Saturday.

Nick Davey had returned for a second spell on loan at Yaxley. Ollie Gale is back at Wisbech from Yaxley in exchange.

Wisbech are back in action tonight with a game at CRC. It is likely that Appleby will keep the same squad as at Wivenhoe even though Matt Lunn is available again but he is likely to play in the reserves tonight as he will miss Saturday’s game against Felixstowe.
