ESTOVER Park under 15 girls team won their first major competition by beating Wyberton Wildcats 3-1 in the Fenland League Cup final.
In a cagey first half, Fern Paterson came close to scoring with a shot that hit the post. Park keeper, Dani Westgate, saved well from the only other chance.
The game opened up in the second half, with Rhi Butler setting up Paterson to score from close range. Emma Searle then scored a screamer from a 20-yard free kick.
Wildcats reduced the deficit with a goal but deep into injury time, Paterson scored from close range to confirm the victory.
Estover manager, Gary Davis said: “It was a great team performance to beat a very strong Wildcat side. The girls deserve their success this season but moving on to next season, Park are hoping to go to 11-a side and looking for girls in School Years 10 and 11 (next school years).
