Despite going behind early on the Hares came back to record their third win to go fifth in Thurlow Nunn Division One.

Denny Escorcio replied on 7 and 13 minutes while Dan Woods scored on 65 and 73 – including a penalty when Escorcio was fouled, resulting in a Needham red card – for the Hares, who missed their badly injured captain Lewis McManus and David Jackson.

Luke Pepper was captain in his first start of the season, with Luke McDowell also coming in with Callum Young called in to the bench.

Joint boss Chris Bartlett said: “The sending-off felt a bit harsh.

“It was a good attacking performance and after Denny had a great finish from 20 yards it never looked in any doubt.”

Tom Flatters returns from holiday when March host Long Melford on Saturday.

Last night March were at King’s Lynn Res in the divisional cup.

McManus faces a few weeks out with a fractured cheekbone and Jackson four to six weeks with an ankle injury.
