It was just one of those days when nothing went right for the Hares as the home side completed a Ridgeons Division One double over them on Saturday.

Problems started even before the match for manager Jamie Weston when skipper Luke Pepper aggravated a knee injury picked up for the reserves a week earlier and dropped out.

Another midfield player Adam Weston broke his toe early in the second half and had to come off and then in the last three minutes substitute Grant Watson was shown a red card.

And in front of goal too March had their problems as they enjoyed the majority of the possession in the first half but the nearest they came to scoring was when Denny Escorcio hit the woodwork.

But then five minutes before the break Diss broke quickly from their own half and and a good move was finished with Abbot chipping Lee Brooks from 20 yards out.

Then with almost the last kick of the half March were caught out again as the home side took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Two minutes after the break Weston had to come off but March still enjoyed plenty of the ball and Ash Brand hit a 25-yard free kick which produced a very good save from the keeper just as the ball looked to be heading for the top corner.

Five minutes from time Diss rounded things up with a third goal.

Weston commented: “It was a blow to lose Luke before the game and then Adam soon after the break.

“But we played some good football but were just not decisive enough in the last third and took wrong options. Whereas they had perhaps only four or five shots but scored three goals

“They defended very well and broke very quickly and scored two goals like that.”

March Town: Lee Brooks, Jordan Goult, Marc Welcher, Lee Day, Kyle Plumb, Adam Weston, Adam Cornell, Dan Sterna, Juliano de Menezes, Ash Brand, Denny Escorcio. Subs used: Grant Watson, Simon Bates, Andy Bryan.
