Early strike fires Crown

Crown got back to winning ways with a 3-0 win against White Bell after scoring in the first 20 seconds own goal.

In the second half Crown dominated possession and doubled their lead when Ricky Gunns’ shot from 20 yards struck perfectly into the bottom corner and he added the third goal when he raced through and calmly slotted past the keeper.

March Saracens 3

Lynn Napier 1

March Saracens captain Dan Smethurst led by example as he collected a brace of goals in 3-1 win against Lynn Napier in the King’s Lynn and District Sunday League.

Saracens led early on when Smethurst met a Jim Smith cross. Slack defending allowed Napier to reply but a long range strike from Smethurst put his side in contol at the break.

In the second half Saracens defended well and it was left to Andy Claridge to wrap things up with a cool finish after good work from Paul Rowell.

Northend drew 4-4 with Hilgay in the West Norfolk League.

Northend trailed 1-0 at half-time but then raced into a 4-2 lead with goals from Craig Hotson, Richard Hunt, Lyndon Woods and Aaron Yeomans.

But an injury to keeper Martin Pettit caused reshuffling in defence and Hilgay scored two late goals and a penalty miss by Aaron Wright proved costly.
