Defender Jon Fairweather has returned from coaching in America and will be in the Wisbech Town squad for Saturday’s trip to Diss Town in the Ridgeons Premier Division.

It is a timely return as far as manager Steve Appleby is concerned too.

Scott Johnson and Steve Reid will be out for another two weeks injured and Darren Jimson is unlikely to return until Christmas.

Appleby is not tempted to bring any new players in and said: “It is good to have Fairweather back and we will go with what we have got and give some of other players their chance.

“We need to get back to form after the Dereham defeat but we have tough games at Diss and at home to Haverhill coming up.”

Haverhill are the visitors to the Fenland Stadium on Tuesday night and last season they beat the Fenmen twice to collect all six points.
